Knox Antique Inspired Ring Designs

Knox Jewelers has become known for its one-of-a-kind custom engagement ring creations. To maintain this reputation, we are always striving to update our cases with rings that showcase our unique design ability and hand finishing techniques. The latest additions to our inventory are true to this belief, illustrating Knox’s signature creation process with an antique design appeal. Where better to take inspiration then from the timeless beauty and romance of generations past.

The fascination and enthusiasm for vintage inspired ring settings does not go unnoticed here at Knox Jewelers. The appeal lies in their complicated beauty. Each one is unique with its tapestry of intricate filigree curls, detailed relief engraving and curvaceous silhouettes. Our jewelers hand craft each piece especially to your specifications to ensure your custom engagement ring will be of heirloom quality.

There lies a distinctiveness within an antique inspired ring; they have character. Some may see the uniqueness of their own relationship reflected in singularity of a handcrafted vintage inspired ring from Knox. There is something romantic about a ring design created in the past but still desired today. It has endured the test of time. Featured below are our latest additions to our vintage inspired engagement ring settings. Every detail is created by hand and every ring is made from the ground up, especially for you.

Adele1 Unique Engagement Rings
Adele

True to antique form our Adele setting boast an exaggerated profile height , allowing room for pierced cast-in-place filigree work and a surprise bead-set diamond on either side. Its center diamond is placed within a hexagon shaped setting and held in place by six prongs. Milgrain edges add the final touch to this Edwardian era inspired ring design.

Coral Unique Engagement Rings
Coral

Our Coral ring design negates the notion that a band has to be wide to include intricate detailing. Good things can come in small, tapering packages. This ring features swirl patterned relief engraving with a central gemstone set into diamond encrusted seat.

Sylvia Unique Engagement Rings
Sylvia

Giving us a bold shoulder, the Sylvia ring design includes large pear shaped side stones that direct attention towards its bezel set center diamond. This seamless design incorporates custom filigree pockets within a bead-set arching diamond band. Owing its intricate detailing to not one but several eras of influence, this ring setting is truly something special.

Alexandria Unique Engagement Rings
Alexandria

The hefty Art Nouveau influence shine through in our Alexandria design. Four delicate petal prongs hold an oval cut diamond in its uniquely crafted center setting. Curving elements and flowing lines emulate the favored artistic details of the era. Bead set diamonds highlight the intricate band and a surprise marquise shaped diamond on either side brings a focus to the ring’s profile view.

Fitzgerald Unique Engagement Rings
Fitzgerald

Befitting its namesake, our Fitzgerald ring design holds design elements inspired by the roaring twenties and its Art Deco movement.  A bezel setting allows for milgraing edging to encircle the entire center diamond. Exaggerated scroll shapes lead into an arching band, that from the top view adds a flattering pinched shape. Bead set diamonds and an amble amount of milgrain add a lavish appeal in line with its era of influence.

Noveau Unique Engagement Rings
Noveau

Finally, the best of both worlds is achieved in our Noveau ring design featuring a modern half bezel center stone setting surrounded by elaborate vintage inspired scroll relief engraving.

Any of the settings listed above can be crafted as-is or custom tailored to your preferences. Engagement Rings with a Twist

For most engagement rings, the focus and embellishments are directly solely on the center gemstone. But here at Knox Jewelers, we like to focus on the details interwoven into the band and profile of your ring, as well as your center stone. These are the small things that make your custom engagement ring completely your own. If you are a fan of uniquely detailed engagement rings, you may enjoy the trend that has been passing through our custom design studio recently. We have received a surge of custom design requests for both engagement rings and wedding band with twisting, infinity-style designs.

Both beautiful and complex, braids and twists are the perfect detail to add interest to a wedding band or the shank of your custom designed ring. Braids and overlapping patterns capture the attention of any viewer, urging the eye to trace the intricate designs. Twists and turns are not only visually appealing, but they can also hold a greater symbolism. A braided design could represent the tightly woven bond between you and your partner. If followed, a strand single strand of a braid in a circular ring is never ending, like the love between you.

Similarly, the twisted infinity-like symbol that has been eagerly requested in several designs lately, is both refined in its design and profound in its representation. The original infinity symbol stood to embody an unlimited and immeasurable duration of time with the simplicity of an overlapping circle or figure eight. This representation is perfect for couples who are starting their lives together and are promising to love one another for a never-ending amount of time.

We can help you custom create anything you have in mind when it comes to your twisted engagement ring or wedding bands. Overlapping elements featured in a design is a modern and fashionable way to express your style and add sentimental meaning at the same time.

Mixing Metals Trend

Near the conclusion of 2015 we predicted the upcoming trends in engagement rings for the following year. At Knox Jewelers, tuned our trend radar in a large part through customer requests for custom engagement rings and wedding bands. One of those predictions, the mix metals trend, has had numerous requests as of late and is staying true to course as a favorite of 2016. Mixing metals is more popular than ever before in the bridal jewelry scene, especially now when mix-matched stacked wedding bands are in vogue. Most brides-to-be seem to be in the mind-set of ‘why choose one metal when you can have two shades, and while we are at it throw in a colored gemstone’. Blending engagement ring and wedding band tones creates a unique look, making your ring exclusive to you, and setting your rings apart from one another as well.

Your wedding band should be as one-of-a-kind as your engagement ring and your relationship, as it reflects your future and commitment. Today in the bridal scene there seems to be no room for traditions or rules when it comes to wedding bands. Mixing metals could be the perfect way to make your band stand out against your perfect engagement ring, and give it a life of its own. There are so many ways to make your engagement ring and wedding band distinctive, but color is always a great way to demonstrate your unique bridal style.

A bold rose gold matching band adds contrast to our white gold Seville engagement ring.

You may think that the cool allure of white gold and platinum clashes with the warm tones of rose gold and yellow gold, but paired right, they can offer a winning combination. The renewal of the mix metal trend is growing at such a fast pace for good reasons. Combination metal engagement rings offer many more styling possibilities and it allows you numerous options when it comes to selecting your wedding band or multiple bands. On a more important note, mixed metal rings alleviate the stress and hinder the mindset of having to match all of your other jewelry for the rest of your life to shade of your bridal set.

There are many eye-catching ways to create a two tone look within your engagement ring or wedding band pairings. There are bold, elaborate mix metal wide bands to subtle hints of color, like the addition of color contrasting filigree curls. One very popular interpretation of the trend it to create a shaded diamond halo that differs from the rest of the ring, to draw attention to and highlight your center stone. Multiple band engagement ring, like our Fireworks Design, are brought into a whole new light when one band is featured in a warm shade of gold. If a small amount of two-tone is all you are ready for, try slight alterations, like colored center prongs, yellow or rose gold filigree curls or a colored contrasting center bezel.

Sapphire Engagement Rings

Sapphires have been a favored selection for engagement ring for many centuries, and up until the twentieth century more sapphires graced the fingers of the recently engaged than diamonds. In modern times the most sought after center stone is a diamond, and it has become a standard request at Knox Jewelers for an engagement ring. However, a growing percentage of couples are opting to include rich colored sapphires to their custom created rings.

Throughout the ages, sapphires have come to represent faithfulness and loyalty, hence their wide use in bridal jewelry. Recent events in history have also linked sapphires to the ideals of romance and royalty.

Apart from their chromatic allure, sapphire is also a practical choice for jewelry worn on a daily basis, like an engagement ring or wedding band. Corundum, the mineral name for sapphire, is ranked 9 on the Mohs Scale, and is hard enough to withstand everyday wear and tear. This being said, it is not indestructible.

With our custom created engagement rings and wedding bands the possibilities are endless. Customizing your engagement ring with the inclusion of sapphires will make it a truly personalize, one-of-a-kind piece. Listed below are just some of the ways colored sapphires could be featured in your favorite ring settings.
